TWITTER USERS GET INVOLVED IN A 24-HOUR 'TWESTIVAL' EVENT INCLUDING A GOLBAL AUCTION OF CELEBRITY-DONATED ITEMS!
Just when you think you’ve heard just about everything when it comes to social networking…
Today, Twitter users will get involved in a 24-hour Twitter charity party for the second annual ‘Twestival’ event, which will bring together 175 cities around the world to raise money for the charity ‘Concern Worldwide.’
This year the Twestival has extended its online reach with activities including a global auction of celebrity-donated items and experiences on eBay;
Paris Hilton has donated a goody bag, there’s a VIP experience with Imogen Heaps, The Veronicas Signed Memorabilia, VIP Social Media Makeover with Yuli Zi and much more!
Amanda Rose, founder of Twestival Global, said: "Organising online and gathering offline allows Twestival to harness the incredible communication power of Twitter to propel participation in real events around the world.
Last year’s Twestival event raised more than £167,000 for the charity!
UK tickets to offline events are available on the UK Twestival site. UK cities taking part include Barnsley, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, London, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham and Oxford.
