FASHIONISTAS ARE INCREASINGLY TURNING TO CHARITY SHOPS TO FIND ONE-OFF VINTAGE PIECES...
VOLUNTEERS: St Richard’s Hospice sorting depot
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to all you bargainistas that you can pick up some gems at your local charity shops; just the other day I bagged a gorgeous tan Ralph Lauren belt for £2!
Fashionistas are increasingly turning to charity shops to find one-off vintage pieces, beats passing 5 people in the street all wearing the same Topshop jacket as you.
Bearing this in mind, it’s no wonder Hospice shops around the country have turned over £1.2 million this year!
Matthew Baldock, manager of the St Richard’s Hospice warehouse in Worcester needs more volunteers to help meet the increased demand, especially when it comes to vintage clothing.
There are more than 24 rails of retro clothes in the warehouse ready to be sent out to stores, well, if I worked there, I don’t think anything would reach the shops!
They need volunteers to pick out clothes suitable for sale on ebay aswell, Baldock commented: “I believe we could have 50 auctions a week on eBay which would be fantastic.”
If you would like to volunteer (think of all the vintage Chanel, Hermes and Mulberry that could be discovered) then call 01886 833743 or go to strichards.org.uk.
