Want a slice of vintage glamour good enough to grace the cabinets of the V&A museum? Not to blow one’s own trumpet, but I’ve discovered a bit of a gem on ebay this evening…
After trawling through some rather uninteresting pages of ‘vintage’ fashion on ebay I came across this iconic 1969 Ossie Clark (Celia Birtwell print) Lamborghini trouser suit >
This piece was originally produced under Ossie Clarks own label, but was one of the first designs to also be produced under the Radley label.
They originally created near perfect copies, using the same fabrics and techniques, so you can be sure that an early Ossie for Radley is going to be pretty much identical to the 'couture' pieces.
More importantly this suit was also famously worn by Twiggy; ok not this exact one, one still, if Twiggy approved of this design what better stamp of approval do you need!
Ossie created some of the most beautiful designs of the 60s and 70s and his pieces (now vintage collectables) still grace the red carpet today with celebs such as Emma Watson, Sienna Miller, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman all snapping up his designs.
